A little house for your incense — and for your room

A quiet moment with a favorite scent helps you reset after a busy day. The Incense House is a house-shaped incense holder born from the metalworking skills of Ayase, Kanagawa. Smoke drifts gently from its little chimney, and even when no incense is burning, it sits on a shelf or desk as a small piece of interior décor.
Why you'll love it
- Smoke rises from the chimney — watch a thin line of smoke drift up from the triangular roof.
- Ash stays inside — the incense lies flat on a non-flammable sheet under the roof, so ash does not scatter and the stick is less likely to go out.
- No welding, just folding — the roof and base are bent from metal sheets with sub-millimeter precision and fit together snugly.
- Three metals — brass (gold), copper (pink) or stainless steel (silver).
Smoke from the chimney, ash kept inside

Lay a stick of incense (7.5 cm / 3 in or shorter) on the non-flammable sheet on the base, light it and cover it with the roof. The smoke rises from the small chimney, the incense burns steadily, and ash stays inside the house — so you can use it with peace of mind in the living room or at your desk.
Folded, not welded: precision sheet metal from Ayase

The Incense House is made by Noguchi Seisakusho, a precision sheet-metal company founded in 1964 in Ayase, Kanagawa, and a member of Ayase Monozukuri Kenkyukai. Each piece is formed only by bending metal sheets — without any welding.

The craftsmen read the hardness and spring of each metal and bend it to a precision finer than a millimeter, so the roof settles onto the base with a satisfying, exact fit.
A finish that grows with you

The surface is finished to catch light softly, giving the metal a calm, warm look. Brass and copper slowly deepen in color as they are handled and exposed to air, developing a character of their own over time. It also makes a lovely housewarming or wedding gift.
