Better-tasting drip-bag coffee

About Coffee Kogu
Coffee Kogu (珈琲考具) is a coffee-tool brand from Shimomura Kihan, a housewares company in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata — Japan's best-known center of metalworking. The name joins ko (to think) and gu (tool): tools carefully thought through so you can brew better coffee. Many pieces are developed with feedback from professional baristas and make full use of the region's stainless-steel craftsmanship.
A wire stand crafted by hand

Most of the work on this wire stand is done by hand — possible only in Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan's metalworking town. Each wire is welded one by one, and the precise bends are true craftsmanship. It looks simple, but takes real time and care to make.

Your drip bag never sits in the coffee

Because the stand raises the drip bag above the cup, the bag doesn't soak in the brewed coffee. You get true pour-through extraction, like with a dripper, and the bag keeps its shape so it's easier to pour into. Holding the bag up limits the extraction of harsh flavors, so you can enjoy coffee's natural, clear taste. It also prevents the familiar problem of your cup suddenly looking emptier after you lift the bag out.

Hygienic stainless steel
Made of stainless wire, the stand resists stains and drains quickly after washing.

Fits many drip bags and cups

It works with drip bags of different shapes. Simply place the stand on top of your cup, and lift it off easily after brewing. Fits cups with an outer diameter of about 7–8.5 cm.
