A New Era of Ceramics: Crafted from Pigment-Infused Clay

Typically, ceramics are colored using a glass-like coating called "glaze." Since the bottom of a vessel cannot be glazed during the firing process, it remains rough and unfinished—creating a clear "underside."

corock, however, has no "underside." Every one of its 12 faces features a beautiful, consistent matte texture. So, what sets it apart from ordinary pottery?

The secret is that corock is completely unglazed. Instead, it is made using a proprietary technique developed by Yamashita Touen, where the color is kneaded directly into the clay itself. This process differs significantly from standard ceramic production and is only possible thanks to Yamashita Touen’s integrated, in-house manufacturing system.
